ALEXANDRA TSOCANOS currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

As an undergraduate at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study she studied the politics and practices of visual storytelling through her self-designed major “Anthropology Through the Visual Arts.” Since graduating (2007), her photography-based installation projects have focused on themes of memory and the impermanence of our physical and psychological worlds, exploring deterioration and change in still images. Treading the line between documentary and conceptual photography she aims to create an experience that allows the viewer to interact with and interpret the subject matter on a personal level.
